Ljubljana, 26 February 2008 – Bankart's experts among the first in Europe to set up a system for continuous operation of the authorisation system
An additional authorisation system was set up at the backup location, which enables simultaneous processing of ATM and POS transactions.
Bankart’s experts were among the first in Europe to set up the system for continuous operation of the authorisation system; the method of operation is such that two authorisation servers at different locations enable simultaneous processing of ATM and POS transactions. This solution considerably improved the reliability of operation of Bankart’s ATM and POS networks.
Such duplicated authorisation system in the operations performed via POS terminals guarantees that, in case of any problems, POS terminals are automatically switched over to the system that works, which means that the entire network of POS terminals processed by Bankart operates without interruption.
In the area of ATM operations, the double authorisation system enables the ATMs to switch over to the fully operational system within two hours in case of problems at any location. This means that the entire ATM network is fully operational within two hours of perceived problems. Another important fact is that due to the distribution of ATM connections to two authorisation systems, the ATMs connected to one of the authorisation systems are fully operational when the other system breaks down.
This is a significant achievement of Bankart’s experts in the technical-technological area of payment instrument processing.
