In the business development plan for 2006 special emphasis has been given to the project of the shift to the euro and of the shift to chip cards. In line with the project plan of the shift to the euro, all 1,500 ATMs and 13,000 POS terminals, in which approximately 1.5 million card holders execute 14 million transactions every month, were adjusted to operations after 1.1.2007, when the euro becomes the domestic Slovene currency. By the end of this year, approximately one fifth of ATMs and most POS terminals will take EMV standard chip cards.
Other company projects are oriented towards providing technical conditions for improving the quality and reliability of company operations, including in extraordinary circumstances, or with a substantial increase of transaction volume.
In the financial field, the company is planning somewhat lower revenues in the following year, mainly as a result of changed market conditions and optimization in the field of pricing policy, which persues the goal of quality and reliability of business operations at a competitive price. In the future, too, the basic aim of the company will be to reduce processing costs for banks, while the company, based on the good business results of previous years of operations and with a sound business approach to its clients, maintains and even strengthens its position as the leading processor in the Slovene market.
