Today, the Bankart d.o.o. Supervisory Board held its 54th meeting, the sixth of this year. It dealt with Bankart d.o.o. business operations in the eleven months of this year, which were marked by preparation for the transition to the euro, it reviewed the Bankart internal audit service report on business operations in 2006 and approved its work plan for 2007.

By way of introduction, members of the Supervisory Board were closely familiarized with preparations for adoption of the euro and considered that they were making adequate progress. Bankart provides prompt information on the development of the euro project to banks for which it carries out processing by individual fields of operations, the Bank Association of Slovenia as the coordinator of activity implementation in the transition to the euro, and the Bank of Slovenia, which regularly supervises this project.

The central topic of the Supervisory Board meeting was a discussion on the business development and financial plan for the period 2007 - 2009 and approval of the detailed business development and financial plan for 2007. On the completion of the transition to the euro project which substantially marks the current business year, Bankart business operations for next year are mainly oriented towards installing software for the provision of wider availability and greater reliability of operations of individual systems within Bankart, even under extraordinary conditions, and to the introduction of new services at ATMs. There are as many as 1,524 ATMs operating in Slovenia today, which processed 77,806,164 transactions, the highest number in June: 7,502,330.

In line with the project plan, we expect that by the end of 2007, the Bankart system will be adjusted to chip technology operations which, amongother things, represents an increase in business operations security and »insurance« against the effects of Mastercard and Visa rules on shifting responsibility, and the saving resulting from more advantageous commissions on executed transactions, defined by international card organizations. The realization of other projects will provide greater reliability and availability of individual system operations, in foreseen as well as in unforeseen circumstances, rationalization of the company's business operations, and the continuous introduction of new services in the field of ATM operations.
